Bill Cosby’s request for parole from his 10-year prison sentence has been denied by the Pennsylvania Parole Board. The parole was declined because he refused to go to a therapy program that is for sexually violent criminals. The spokeswoman of the parole board, Laura Treaster said that the news is true. The news was already made public by the author of the book Chasing Cosby, Nicole Weisensee Egan, through her Facebook post.

The representative of Cosby, Andrew Wyatt said that they knew their plea was going to be declined. Ha said that Cosby had called him and said that his request would be rejected as he refused to participate in the program. He has claimed that he is innocent from the beginning.

Cosby is now 83 years old. His next parole eligibility will be after he finishes at least a 3-year term of his sentence on September 25th. His total sentence period was 3 to 10 years in prison. He was termed as a sexually violent predator in 2018 after he was convicted of the rape of his university friend Andrea Constand in 2004.

Formerly known as the ‘America’s Dad’ for his excellent comedies, he now resides in the State Correctional Institution at Phoenix, Philadelphia.

The parole board will not give him parole unless he joins the course mentioned before. He must have a clear conduct report and create a ‘parole lease plan’ said the board.

Treaster revealed that why Cosby got a negative report from the state Corrections Department and his prison conduct reports will not be made public.

Though Cosby appealed to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in December, he still has not received any verdict.

According to his spokesperson, Cosby is faring fine in prison. He said he is cool as a cucumber.
