On November 7th, Samsung in the company’s annual developer conference in San Francisco officially announced that they will be launching a foldable Smartphone in the next year. They are using the new Infinity Flex displays which allow it to be unfolded and folded without any wear and tear.

Samsung Vice president Justin Denison exclaimed that when this phone will open, it’s a tablet that will offer a big-screen experience.  When it is folded it looks like a phone that can fit inside your purse or pocket.

Denison showed the different features about new display technology on the stage and it is featured with a 7.3- inch display when unfolded. He didn’t declare any branding or price point for this Smartphone and not even the launch date of this new handset but said that the company will begin its mass-production in the coming months.

Google vice president Dave Burke at a separate event on the same day morning said that they are closely working with Samsung on the new device which they planned to launch next year. Burke said that you can think this device as both phone and tablet.

When you are thinking that you have seen everything in phones, Samsung is bringing this new form factor idea. They are taking advantage of the new flexible display technology where the screen can literary bend and fold.
