Meghalaya High Court said that India was divided on the basis of religion, so it should have been declared a Hindu country like Pakistan has declared them as Islamic Country. India has remained as a secular country from the day of partition.

The 37-page order passed by Justice S R Sen on Monday stated that nobody should try to make India as another Islamic country; otherwise it will be a doom’s day for India and the World.

The Court said that even today, in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, the Hindus, the Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Christians, Paris, Khasis, Jaintias and Garos are tortured. Those Hindus who have entered India during partition are still considered a foreigner, which is quite irrational, illegal and against the principle of natural justice.

The court directed the copy of the judgment be sent to the PM, Home Minister and Law Minister for their perusal and to bring a law to safeguard the interest of the Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhist, Christians, Parsis, Khasis, Jaintias, and Garos as well as persons of Indian origin.

SR Sen also stated that opposing the Indian laws and constitution they cannot be considered as citizens of the country. Everyone must remember that they are first Indians, then good human beings and thereafter comes the community they belong to.
