Katy Perry Welcomes Her Firstborn, Daughter Daisy Dove Bloom With Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The news of the two becoming official parents was first announced by the humanitarian agency UNICEF where both Perry and Bloom are Goodwill Ambassadors with the organization. They are now parents to baby girl Daisy Dove Bloom, the news was introduced via Instagram.
The image attached to the post shows both Perry and Bloom’s hands as they touch their daughter’s hand. The loving pair released a statement through UNICEF’s post.
The post released by the new parents stated they are currently floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of their daughter. They also showed their gratitude for being the lucky ones, knowing that not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as they had. There are communities around the world who are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and also that every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or a newborn dies, mostly due to preventable causes. The coupled wrote that since the arrival of COVID-19, the lives of many newborns are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, vaccines, soap, and medicines that prevent diseases. And, as they are now parents to a newborn, it breaks their hearts to see such pathetic conditions prevailing everywhere. Both Perry and Bloom showed their empathy towards struggling parents now more than ever.
The post further went on to read that as both of them are UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, they know that UNICEF is there on the ground and doing whatever it takes to ensure that every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and also has access to quality healthcare. In the joy of the arrival of their daughter, they have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. They wrote that by supporting them, everyone shall support a safe start to life and henceforward re-imagine a healthier world for every child. The parents just expect everyone’s love to bloom with generosity.
Smile, which is Perry’s fifth major-label album, is all set to be released on Friday. In a recent interview with The Associated Press, the 35-year-old said that she’s finally opening her arms to happiness and finding her smile again after years of pain.
She went on to share on how she went through a reckoning of self and then re-prioritized what was important and her association with validation or even her relationship with validation she said.
Daisy Dove Bloom is Perry’s first. Bloom and his former wife Miranda Kerr are parents to a son named Flynn who was born in 2011. Perry and Bloom have been happily engaged to each other since February 2019.
