India is going to play with much more freedom but they have to focus on properly executing their plans. The Indian team has ticked almost all the boxes in the run-up to the upcoming T20 World Cup according to the middle-order batsman, Shreyas Iyer.

Just before the start of the first T20 match, Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper has said that he wants his team to play more freely than before in the series against England.

When he asked about stepping away from this particular batting philosophy after they have suffered a defeat of eight wickets in the T20 match, Iyer has said that it is not going to change because the batting line-up has too many power-hitters and, to be honest, he does not want to opt for any change.

Iyer has also added that they have come with a plan and the team has to execute the plans as much as possible. This is because they are going into the World Cup and one must see to it that all the boxes are ticked. The series has 5 T20s and this is the best time when different things can be tried and see which is more suitable for the team.

The selectors have opted for brilliant IPL performers like Rahul Tewatia, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav for the series against England while a comeback has been made by the in-form Risabh Pant.

He also added that coming into the Indian team one has to be flexible about the batting position where one will be batting. Not many changes have been made and it is just only in the mindset and bat according to the situation and requirement of the team.

The situation was very challenging for all the batters and one has to play their natural game and keep on ticking the scoreboard despite losing quite a few early wickets.

Iyer has been the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the IPL and the experience of playing in the IPL has helped him a lot.

He also said that he has been in such a situation before and been there in IPL and this has not happened for the first time.

He knew that he will get the odd boundaries and the momentum of the game changes with a partnership. The batters are going to dominate the bowlers and the bowlers also bowled well from his point of view. It was the day for England and they deserve all the kudos.

When he was asked about playing three spinners in the team, he was quick to answer that the team has practiced on this surface before the start of the match and the spinners were bowling. All the balls are stopping and turning and it was like a two-paced wicket where they played before. The Indians have spinners as their strength and the plan was to stick to all three spinners.
