Rap queen Nicki Minaj apologized to her fans for postponing her show in Manchester as she was arrested in the Netherlands. The rapper was scheduled to perform at the Co-op Live arena on Saturday at Manchester City but had no choice but to cancel it at the last moment for she was held for suspicion.

She was fined €350 which is around $380 by the Netherlands Police for carrying marijuana but let her continue her journey. She was held under suspicion as Dutch Police thought the rapper was exporting drugs.

The rapper has promised her fans that she will be performing next Monday in Manchester. She posted on social media and apologized. Minaj wrote, “I apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused. I really hope you can make the June 3rd show. It’ll be really special.” She also added that Ticketmaster will contact the fans who have bought tickets and let them know about the schedule, considering the ‘class act’.

The promoters of the event also said, “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible.” They also added, “We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”

The Dutch Police kept Minaj in custody for five to six hours and finally let her board a flight from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The prosecutors said that the rapper was carrying somewhere around 30 to 100 grams of cannabis which is perhaps a lot. Minaj said that “the pre-rolls” were of her security guard.

Although it is against the law to possess, sell, or produce drugs in the Dustch lands; the Government is quite tolerant when it comes to cannabis. It is operated by a policy of tolerance which allows the sale or possession of small amounts of some cannabis and even drugs. Minaj posted on X, “I’ll have the lawyers and god take it from here tho,” and further added, “They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass.”

More than 20,000 fans were waiting for Nicki Minaj at the Co-op arena on Saturday and around 21:40 BST it was announced that the show would be postponed. For her fans, the rapper also said, “The most important thing was to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here tonight.” She also said, “Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies.”While the Dutch Police put the allegation of carrying ‘Soft Drugs’, Minaj shared on X, “Told you, it’s to try to make me late so that they can write negative stories. Jealousy is a disease. You know the rest.”

The Manchester event which was supposed to take place on Saturday was a part of her “Pink Friday 2” world tour which will be taking place in many other countries including Germany, Romania, France, Poland as well as Switzerland.
